The Hotel Was Built In 1986 On A Site Later Required For The New National Museum Of New Zealand. The 3500 Tonne Hotel Was Moved 150 Meters Down And Across The Road In August 1993. Achieving Worldwide Recognition As An Extrordinary Engineering Feat. The Hotel Reopened For Business In November 1993.
